Which services start with lab work, and why
If you're considering care at Desert Lily, you may be wondering whether you'll need lab work first. The answer depends on the service you're interested in.
The short answer
These services begin with comprehensive lab work:
These services do not require lab work:
Medical aesthetics, including PRP facial rejuvenation provided as an aesthetic treatment
Why some services start with labs
Changes in how you feel can have many possible causes. For hormone optimization, testosterone therapy, medical weight loss, peptide therapy and PRP & regenerative care, your lab results, along with your health history and goals, help Brenna, FNP-C, evaluate you as an individual before developing a personalized plan.
That's the "labs first, options second" approach you'll see across these services. The plan comes after the evaluation, not before it.
Why IV therapy and aesthetics don't require labs
IV therapy and aesthetic treatments, including PRP facial rejuvenation, begin with a review of your health history and goals instead. Your provider will review your health history and help you understand which options may be appropriate for you.
Where labs fit in the process

Schedule with Brenna. If you choose to move forward, we schedule a personalized evaluation with Brenna, FNP-C.
Labs, for services that require them. Comprehensive lab work comes before your plan for hormone, testosterone, weight loss, peptide and regenerative care. If you've had recent lab work, bring it. Brenna will let you know whether it can be used or whether new labs are needed.
Review and personalized plan. Your results, health history and goals guide the conversation about possible next steps.
What about cost?
Desert Lily is a cash-pay practice and does not bill insurance. We walk through expected costs on your free discovery call, based on the services you're actually interested in, before you ever schedule a medical appointment. More on that: Why we're cash-pay, and how you'll know costs up front.
Not sure which service fits?
That's what the discovery call is for. You don't need to know which service or which labs to ask for. Tell us what's been going on, and we'll help you understand your options. Book your free 15-minute discovery call.
